Preface I have not had many experiences with narrative writing in academic communities or writing my emotional legacy. When I was in high school most of my assignments were formal, informative assignments that had to do with mostly novels or research topics.I did take a creative writing course freshman year and I hated it. I think the reason I dislike narrative writing is because I have no background in it and feel as if my writing sounds very inexperienced. I would feel more comfortable and excited writing in the narrative genre if I knew my work wasn't going to be posted onto my website for everyone to read. I think my audience limits the way I write at times because I don't want people to assume certain things about me based on my writing topics and style. So far based on my first draft of the narrative assignment and emotional scenes (blog assignment #3 and blog assignment #4) we have written, I am not a fan of narrative writing. I do not like writing about personal experiences in my own life and find it hard to dive into aspects of my emotion. I think that by writing this narrative my writing has grown and I see why it's important to delve into things you are uncomfortable with. In my fifth blog post I discuss how my narrative shows parts of my heart brain and nerve. I'm glad this class is forcing me to open up to new writing styles. It's helping me grow as a writer and increase my skills on genres and topics I lack experience on.
