Welcome to my English website!
I created this website to serve as my first ever digital portfolio. This website was created to show my progress on expanding my author identity and writing process throughout this semester. It will help me track my growing skills and new knowledge. I made this website in my first ever English composition I course at Delaware County Community College. This is my first semester of my first year here at Delco and I think it's providing a good transition from high school to a bigger school and larger workload.
Throughout college I have many goals along the way that I wish to complete or even surpass throughout my time at Delaware County. In English Composition I also have many goals for myself and my writing that I would like to achieve throughout this class. My overall intrinsic goal is to improve my writing knowledge and knowledge of myself, likes and dislikes I have relating to English.
Throughout this semester I would like to learn to enjoy the process of writing. Usually I look at every writing piece as a chore with a grade attached to it; I have always struggled with English assignments in particular and they have always been pushed to the last minute for me or even turned in late. I would like to change that by finding new methods of writing that can turn the process into something fun and enjoyable.
Another goal that I have would be improving my vocabulary and expanding my writing style. Expressing myself through my writing would be much easier if I had a larger vocabulary. I also have only written formal papers and learning to properly blog, write memoirs and research papers will really expand the writing styles I am able to successfully complete.
Lastly, I am not a very big dialogue writer and I struggle with the breaks in paragraphs, grammar, and sentence structure required to do so. I would love to learn how to correctly write dialogue as this would add more of a way for me to express myself through my writing. I hope to challenge myself in this course and slowly see myself grow as a writer.
