My names is Aislyn Benasutti and I was born on April 21st. I am 18 years old currently in my first year and semester at Delaware County Community College. I hope to move on to West Chester University after completing two years here. I love to read. Mostly science fiction with a little underlying romance thrown in as well. I hope to one day get back into playing piano as I took two years of lessons in High School. I currently am in my fourth year of working in a catering business as a as banquet server. I work weddings, bridal showers, school banquets and more.
Who are my favorite writers and/or composers?
I do not have particular favorites when it comes to writers or music authors. If I had to pick I would go with J.K. Rowling as I was a die hard Harry Potter fan growing up. I also loved the series Gone by Michael Grant growing up and it led to my love of the science fiction genre and alternate universe societies.
What types of writing do I enact most often? The type of writing I enact the most in would probably be formal school assignments or whatever the assignment is asking me to compose. I also keep a folder in my notes to describe all my dreams because they are crazy vivid. I also am constantly texting friends and family throughout the day.
When do I write? Why do I write? Where do I write? I write the most when I am doing homework, and when I am on my phone, texting/posting/looking things up. I write the most when it's necessary or when I am angry; at times I write what I'm thinking. School is where I do the most of my writing. I don't have a habit of writing pieces on my own as writing is not something I particularly enjoy or am good at. I write because I have to. Sometimes I write to get my thoughts and feelings out in front of me and to reconsider why I am feeling a certain way. I write to remember. How have my past experiences shaped my author identity and how can I reshape my author identity in this course? My past experiences have shaped my author identity to write by instruction. The most writing I do is for school and usually, they are very instructional formal assignments that limit my creativeness.
